Out in Harmony‘s ‘Heroes & Villains‘ concert last night was fabulous! Big kudos to all the wonderful folks who helped make it happen: Central Presbyterian Church for the venue, Len Christiansen & John for their hard work with the sound system, the Concert Planning Committee for arranging the myriad details necessary to putting on a show, the many generous donors who helped create the gift baskets which were raffled off during the concert, Ariel and the hard working volunteer team, the choir members themselves for all their hard work and dedication in learning and performing the music, the many astounding soloists who stepped up into the spotlight and touched our hearts and minds with their inspiring and beautiful performances, Nicki our director for her nurturing leadership, and of course our amazing and enthusiastic audience!
It was truly a full-spectrum experience, with a wonderful mixture of music that ran the gamut: choral pieces and solos, heart-wrenching prayers and campy romps, lighthearted fluff and thought-provoking ballads, some pieces familiar to almost everyone and some known by hardly any, beautiful, invigorating, and inspiring. In the next few weeks we’ll hopefully be posting photos & comments from the concert, so check back here (and if you have photos or comments/reviews, let us know!)
The choir has only one more rehearsal/wrap-up-party before summer break, but stay tuned for news about summer time events such as PRIDE, picnics in the park, etc. The fall season’s first rehearsal will be Tuesday September 4th, and we’ll start preparing for January’s Canadiana themed concert.
